About us

Ruth and Dave "the Dutchman" Holland

A little bit about ourselves, we are Dave and Ruth Holland, and are parents of eight children. They are all grown up and scattered across North America, with just our youngest still at home and in high school. We lived in New Mexico for over 20 years, and have moved back to Mississippi after more than 30 years of being away.

The name Dutch's Oven originates from a nickname, "the Dutchman", that Ruth's grandfather gave Dave because of his last name Holland. This quirky, fun mood fits our restaurant perfectly!

We are here to serve up some great homemade food with gourmet quality, try to plant seeds of love for green chile, and make new friends with y'all. So come on down to Dutch's Oven to share food and smiles!

Something that we take pride in is our Hatch, New Mexico green chile. It is a staple of New Mexico, and it has been important to us to bring this (big) piece of home to Mississippi. It goes great with almost any food, but we love it in our breakfast burritos, hamburgers, and in our Philly Cheese Steak sandwich!
(Pro tip: it tastes even better smothered in cheddar cheese- but what doesn't?!)

Don't Be Shy!

We love talking to our customers! While you're at the restaurant, don't be afraid to come stay and say hi and strike up a conversation!
